20 large shrimp
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. mustard
1 tsp. each chili powder, smoked paprika
2 tsp. each black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1 tsp. black pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika
3 tbsp. butter
1 cup buffalo hot sauce
1/2 lemon juiced
1 tsp. garlic powder
1. In a small bowl, combine the 1st five spices in the list, and sprinkle on top of both sides of the shrimp. In another bowl, mix the egg with the mustard. Lastly, combine the batter ingredients together: cornmeal, flour, black pepper, chili powder and smoked paprika.
2. Dip the shrimp in the egg mixture, the corn flour mixture and then set on a plate. Heat oil in a skillet, when it is warmed, fry the shrimp for about 3 minutes on each side or until browned.
3. While the shrimp is frying, add the buffalo sauce ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil; stir frequently. After it has reached a boil, reduce heat and let sit.
4. Coat the shrimp with the buffalo sauce.
