Butterscotch Banana Muffins



1 white cake mix

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup butter

2 eggs

1  1/4 cup mashed banana

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 cup butterscotch chips

For the crumb topping:

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup flour

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup cold butter

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  For the topping, combine the sugars, flour and cinnamon.  Cut the butter and mix in with your hands, until it resembles sand.

2.For the muffins, with a hand mixer, beat the cake mix, buttermilk, butter and eggs on low speed.  Add the banana, cinnamon and nutmeg, beating for another minute.  Stir in the butterscotch chips.

3.Spoon the batter into muffin liners, so they are about 3/4 full.  Sprinkle a generous amount of the crumb topping on top.  Bake in the oven for 24 minutes.
